1. A table template defines:
• Table definition
• Columns definition
• A set of table operations (not yet in this release)
• A set of validation rules
2. It can be applied to any dataset
3. It can be modified and shared among people

A table template can be applied to:

1. Generic table:
• any (un)typed tabular dataset
2. Codelist:
• Must have one (and only one) code column
• Codes must be unique
• May have one or more attributes
• May have one or more annotations
3. Dataset:
• At least one dimension (reference to a codelist)
• Must have at least one value column
• May have one or more attributes

In case of error one policy of the following policies has to be selected:

1. DISCARD:
• The records that don’t pass the Validation Rules are deleted
2. SAVE:
• The records that don’t pass the Validation Rules are saved in a separate table and removed from the resource
3. ASK:
• The records that don’t pass the Validation Rules are identified and the user has to take corrective actions and then repeat the validation phase
